Reflects the geopolitical changes since I left the Navy. In my day it would have consisted of US UK Can and Aus ships. Was there any reason why the US UK or Can didn’t send a ship?
HMAS Darwin, HMCS Vancouver and USS Sampson together with HMNZS Te Kaha.were diverted from the anniversary celebrations to provide assistance at Kaikoura.
Thanks Tony, now I remember. So I take it that the RN must have a good reason not to send a ship.
They did. They sent an Admiral and a Royal Marine Band.
