I worked for 6months in Port Augusta SA, on a trip up to Coober Peedy with a Cop, who gave me a tiki-tour around the area the Brits did their Space programme (Woomera) and an Airfield up a long road with a gate that stopped you going any further – Americans used it as a Testing Area. But it was then I noticed the Aerials…. all part of either the Military or Civil use. Big country, Radio was the easiest form of communications, even the Police cars had large/long aerials on the back for their radio comms… but I could be wrong as to where this place is…
