I have just been reading about the Navy Motels. I served in the Comms branch from 1949-55 and then at NR1 at Irirangi until 1959. I am now 80 years old!
Would I be eligible to hire a motel at either Mt.Maunganui or Taupo?

    Reply
    • Yes you certainly are eligible. Just follow the instructions and off on holiday you can go.

I would be interested in contacting Robert. I worked at NR1 too, from 1970. I dont believe I have heard Robert mentioned before, so I wonder if he meant NR2, the navy receivers. He may have some memories he could share with me if it was actually NR1.

Tahwehi, You will need to ring the Motels Office when they get back from lockdown. They do not have an internet-based booking system.

I’ve sent through an email. Will this help?
Are staff isolated at home in their bubble and working remotely?
