This is to inform you that Don McBain, commonly known as the lawn mower guy (Bayswater Mowing) who had also been a local Devonport Navy officer for most of his life, has passed away peacefully at home this Wednesday the 9th September, surrounded by his family and myself, after a long battle with an aggressive type of cancer.
As per his wishes, there has been a private cremation only without a traditional public funeral ceremony or service.
We thank all friends, former lawn mowing clients, former Navy personnel (c1970s-2000s) and acquaintances Don met along the way and we shall remember him with fond memories.

On Monday 21 September 2026, aged 77 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Virginia. Cherished father and father-in-law of Hannah, Hayden & Fiona. ⚓️PARKER, Christopher Keith DIVER RNZN on September 3rd 2026 peacefully at Hastings (of Taupo). Age 77 years. Cherished by Grace, loving father to Kim and Nick, Gary and Kim, Mike and Josie, and Daniel. Loved grandad of Raiden, Hayden, Indi, Edith and Ruby. A service to celebrate Chris’s life will be held at the Founders Chapel of Reembrace, 117 Rickit Street, Taupo on Tuesday September 8th at 1.30pm, thereafter to the Taupo Public Cemetery

⚓UNDERWOOD, Edward Patrick (Pat). Passed away peacefully at home on the 19th of September, aged 94, amongst family. Much loved husband for 65 years of Rosemary (Joy) Underwood, Father of Tim and Lesley, Father -in-Law of Teresa, Grandfather of Duane, Jack, Adam, Faith and Danielle, Great Grandfather of Brooklyn and Bailee. With all our love, forever rest in peace in the great ocean above. Private Cremation.
Pat was ex RN CPO TAS. In the1970s he worked in the Navy Trials Analysis Unit. His memory wasn’t too good at that time. Notice was in Tuesday’s NZ Herald.
