Accommodation for Armed Forces Personnel and their Families in Sembawang, Singapore

Fernleaf Centre was a clubhouse and accommodation facility in Sembawang for New Zealand military personnel stationed in Singapore.
It was located within the former British naval base / dockyard area around what is now the Sembawang Shipyard.
After the NZ Forces left, the Fernleaf site/building was repurposed. It operated roughly from 1971 to 1989 after the British withdrawal.
Flights were also introduced for NZ service personnel back in the seventies using Air New Zealand routes only.  The scheme however, was short-lived.

I recall the Fernleaf club pool and bar were used by ANZUK forces and their families. Visiting armed forces like the USN enjoyed the pool as well.
There was also another club up the hill just inside the Sembawang gate from Sembawang road. It was only a clubroom with bar and darts etc. I think this one was mainly used by UK military and their family although anyone could join.
Committee members had quite a list of questions to answer for the Singapore government including ethnic group, race and skin colour plus the normal like age, citizenship, height, eye colour etc all for a social club
