Diary of the War at Sea, 1939-1945
The Naval Review was published throughout the World War II. A regular feature of these editions (starting in May 1941) was the ‘Naval Diary of the War’ which recorded day-to-day events from 1 September 1939. The final diary entry, 20 September 1945, was printed in the November 1945 journal. The diary was compiled by Mr F E McMurtrie, editor of Jane’s Fighting Ships.
