The only Loch Class frigates I remember still in commission when I joined were Rotoiti and Pukaki allthough Hawea was moored behind Motuihe awaiting disposal. Kaniere was alongside the training wharf. Our class and others of our intake had chipping and painting courses held onboard her for a couple of weeks. Every bollard and fairlead on Kaniere was in excellent condition when we finally left her alone on the training jetty, until she went off to be scrapped.
