Peter Mulgrew joined the Royal New Zealand Navy on 2 May 1945. He trained as a radio mechanic in Auckland, then served on the Achilles , which sailed to Britain in 1946. He did further training in England and by early 1947 had qualified in all aspects of naval radar and radio communications.
Pete Mulgrew – he died in the Erebus disaster flight 901 with my old man.
