Visting UK – Invitation
The following was received post our reunion
Hello Sailor,
Chris Bond ( old school and navy mate ), passed on the photos for your reunion. At long last someone was on hand to take plenty of snaps and actually put them in to some sort of order. I have been to a few reunions, naval or otherwise, where nobody seemed to be given the job of ‘scoops’. Well done. Instead of the , ‘I think that’s me’, or ‘nah, he never was bald in 71’, you can actually see people’s faces. I enjoy your web site even though I was ‘not of branch’.
My brother Barry and I are off to Anzac Day at Whitehall this year, Cenotaph and Westminster Abbey. Bazza’s first here, my sixth. The following day we are of to Chania in Crete for a run ashore, pay respects to an uncle who is still resting down there from day one of the battle, and to re-sample Greek hospitality and beers. Any other bodies who are the vicinity should give me a shout.
So, well done the Comms team for getting it right.
If any of your lot are heading in this direction give me a shout, I can give them a guided tour of Oxford, throw in some colleges, and round it off with a beer or six in a local pub. Post it on your notice board if you like, be nice to see a navy face.
