Urgent Assistance Required

A request has been received from Able Communications Operator Phillippa Kingi who is currently on her Leading Communications Operators Course. She has been given an assignment as part of her course entitled ‘History of Message Handling Systems in the RNZN’. She needs information on when NAVTIMS, CAMHS, CMX AND MHS were installed. She is looking for capabilities and opinons of these particular systems and any others which may have been utilised during your time in the Navy. She has heard of EXTEL’s, so any information you may be able to impart on the first electronic message handling computer would also be valuable.  
The provision of assistance to serving members of the Communications Branch is one of the aims of our association so it would very much be appreciated if you can assist this young communicator with her assignment. Phillippa is available via email on phillippa.kingi@nzdf.mil.nz
