Radio Room 1 – No radio equipment onboard. The racks to the left (next Pic suggest Satcom later in years)
Radio Room 2 – more room in this office for one or two people than anywhere else onboard.
Chief of the Boat’s position – helmsman.
Galley – the chef wasn’t saying much…
Engine room – diesels – for surface movement and charging the batteries. The sub
carried 480 batteries, paralled off. She could do 17 knots underwater on battery power.
