N.Z. Defence Force spends $3m per year on all-Christian chaplains

The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) is spending almost $3 million a year on 29 Christian chaplains.
The annual pay on average for a chaplain, including reserves, is almost $100,000.
On top of remuneration costs, which was $2.9m for the 2023-24 year and expected to be similar the next year, the chaplains’ operating budget for the 2024-25 year is $260,590.
