HOSKINS, John Michael (Mike): NZNAVY 594984 1935 – 2022. Quietly passed away at 87, sprightly, young, and still in love. Beloved cherished and devoted husband of Colleen for 56 years. Dearly loved & respected father of Ian, Jon & Sin Lee & John Newton. Treasured and adored grandfather of George, Louis, and Ruby.

KEITH, Dougall James Ross, ex RNZN. on Sunday 18th September suddenly but peacefully surrounded by family aged 81. Loved husband of Betty. Loved father and father-in-law of Andrew, Jacs, and Suzanne. Loved grandfather of Jess. Loved brother-in-law of Alison, Margaret, the late Catherine, Heather, and Bill. Loved brother of Mary, Bruce, Bev, Heather, Flora, Wallace, and Heather. Service at Dil’s North Harbour chapel, 185 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany on Friday 23rd September at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to St John’s ambulance would be appreciated.

BETTRIDGE, Cyril James (Bertie) STOKER, NZ470524 Has crossed the bar. No reference made re Naval history, but I confirmed with the Funeral Parlour that he is indeed ex Navy. Bertie was a STOKER and top bloke, being very good at rugby and a better than average tennis player. There is no funeral service per se, just a quiet whanau service tomorrow and perhaps an open service later at the Taupo tennis club.

MARTIN, Terence Johnstone (Terry). Service No. NZ16059 EM1 Passed away at home on 5 September 2022, aged 83. Loved husband of Marion and father to Phillipa and Bronwyn. Treasured Pop of Corey, Kauri, and Crystal. Great grandfather of Gunnar and Mia. Not forgetting his mate Digga. A service to celebrate Terry’s life will be held at 12pm Saturday 10 September 2022 at Charlemagne Lodge, 2 Loop Road, Te Puna, Tauranga. INGRAM, William Albert (Bill, Porky). W15890 RNZN POME Passed away peacefully at home on 2nd September 2022 Aged 83 years. Beloved husband and soulmate of Anne. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Pauline and Wallie (deceased), Robyn, Les and Val, Jack (deceased) and Dawn, Sydney (deceased), Barbara and Tom (deceased). Brother-in-law of Bruce and Val, Betty and Peter (both deceased), and Jill. Loved by his nieces and nephews and the special godfather of Jacqui. A service to celebrate Bill’s life is to be held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, High Street Dannevirke on Monday 12th September at 11 am, followed by interment in the RSA section of the Mangatera Cemetery, Dannevirke. Bill will be at Kelly Funeral Home, 9 Gordon Street on Thursday 8 September 2022 between 10 am-12 pm and 1 pm-3 pm for friends and family that wish to come and say their farewells. KING, Charles Edward (Roy). QSM Service No. 4462 WWII RNZN Ordinary Signalman Peacefully on 25 August 2022 in his 99th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Val and loved father and father-in-law of Gael, Terry, and Debbie. A very special Poppa, Great Poppa, and Great Great Poppa who will always be remembered. A service for Roy will be held at St John’s Anglican Church, 327 Beach Road, Campbells Bay on Friday 2 September at 2.30 pm.

TWORT, Allan Richard. RNZN, NZ15896, Petty Officer M(E) Malaya, Korea On 1st September 2022, surrounded by his loving family, at HB Regional Hospital, aged 82. Dearly loved husband of Helen. Much loved Dad of Peter and Karen, Ian and Genesta, Warren and Rachel. Adored stepfather of Ailsa and Mark, and the late Fiona. A much-adored Grandad, (Gramps, Pumpa), and Allan of his many grandchildren and “great-grandees”. Loved brother of Carol and David and the late Margaret. Loved husband to the late Norma (nee Leask). Loved husband of the late Faye (Keeley), loved father and father-in-law of Deborah and the late Chris Cairns, Kathleen, Fiona Waller, and Ian Leader. Loved grandfather of Margaret and the late George Cairns, Oliver and Kimberly Ball (UK), Elizabeth and Brendon Riach, Anthea and Lee Smith, and Yvonne Waller.
