FRENCH Daphne Margaret (Nee Johnson) It is with the deepest regret that I have to advise the passing of a very special Golden girl. I have been advised that Daphne French (Johnson 417) passed away yesterday afternoon (17 Sep 20). Daphne represented the Navy in the Auckland Command, in a fundraising queen Carnival, during WW2. She was the “Navy Queen”, I have to say that to the end Daphne remained a “lady”. Daphne was a life member of the Association and for a time the Patron of the Auckland Branch. She also worked on the 2012 exhibition “Breaking Down the Barriers” With Jill Thompson, Aileen Larkins and myself. Daphne was still an active participant in Auckland Branch functions. Rest peacefully my dear, you will be remembered and we will miss you
