JENNINGS, John Wilfred (Jack). MBE RN (MX56108) RNZN (G18475) Lt Cdr (Retd). Passed away 28th September 2019, aged 97. Dearly loved husband to Joan for 69 years. Loved father and father-in-law to Brian and Rosemary, Jacqueline and Dave, John and Susan. Loved Grandad of Stephen and Mel, Nichola and Andrew, James and Kerensa. Loved Great-Grandad of Ebonie, Ethan, Jackson, Bella, Indi, Baxter and Abi. In accordance with Jack’s wishes, a private family service has been held. “Home is the sailor, home from the sea, to which he will be returned.”

Much loved mother and mother in law of Donna and Mel, Jan and Andy, and Mike and Tanya. Treasured nana of Sean, Erica, Abbey, Cole, Logan, and Keanu, and great nana of Indy and her expected sister. BRAYSHAW, Kelvin Valentine: Ex RNZN Sparker. Irirangi in the ’40s and a civvy in 1954 Unexpectantly, but peacefully, passed away on Saturday 21st September 2019 at Levin. Aged 89 years. Finally reunited with his darling Mary. Beloved father of Lorraine (dec), Linda, Jane (dec), Cathy and Pete, and loved father-in-law of Julie. Adored Poppa of Chris, Charlotte, Deeana, and Bianca. A true gentleman who was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by many. A Rosary for Kelvin will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Weraroa Road, Levin, on Sunday 29th September 2019 at 7.00pm, with Requiem Mass to be held on Monday 30th September 2019 at 11.00am, followed by interment at The Avenue Lawn Cemetery, Levin. WOOD Ian Stanley NZ12967 RNZN PO Passed away peacefully on Thursday 19 September 2019 supported by his daughters. Loved husband of Anne for 64 years. Much loved father of Jenni and Allan (deceased) and Jill and Don. Loving grandfather of Jason, Ian, Donald, and Sheri. Thanks to the teams at Crossley Court, Orewa and The Beachfront Home and Hospital, Stanmore Bay, Auckland for their loving care of Poppa. Ian has been farewelled privately by his loving family.

Loving father and father-in-law of Colleen and Terry Carmody, Carmel, Lorna Russell, Peter, and Tim and Bronwyn. Proud Grandpa of Andrew, Kiri, Lauren, Ryan, Joel and Jarrod. HUGHES, Graham Leslie Reg. No. 14186 RNZN. 5.10.1935 – 11.9.2019 In his 84th year. Loving husband of Colleen for 65 years. Father and father-in-law of Dale and Lindsay, Sue and Brett, Greg and the late Raewyn, Kerry and Antoinette. Poppa to his eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. After a long battle with poor health, he passed quietly at home with Colleen, Dale and Sue. As per Graham’s wishes, a private cremation has been held in Nelson. Colleen and family would like to thank Dr Tom Currie and the wonderful Nelson Hospice nurses for their care of Graham over the years. With sadness passed away at Palmerston North Hospital on September 3, 2019, three months short of his 90th birthday. He will be missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Gladys. An amazing dad and father-in-law to Andrew and Cathy, Mark and Julie, and Joanne and Andy.
