HAZEL Michael, It is with regret that inform you that Mike Hazel, NZ19185 who joined 1/68 as LT, ex-RN, passed away earlier this week. I’m not sure of his service, but I know he was XO/CO of the old Endeavour and was a well-known social worker at Philly. The family have advised no funeral as Mike requested not to have one.

O’CONNOR, Brian Terrence (Terry). Service #354923 RNZN.Terry loved to recall stories of his navy days and his work as a tool maker. On Friday 20th October 2023 passed away peacefully at age 82. Dearly Beloved Husband to his beautiful wife Gay O’Connor. Much loved Father to Gary and Warren O’Connor and Stepfather to Jason, Andrea and Campbell Horton. Wonderful Grandfather to his grandchildren. Much loved nieces, Karen Bisman and Annette Scharvi. He will be greatly missed by many. A gathering for friends and family will be held on Tuesday 31st October at 11am at the RSA 1237 Cameron Road Greerton, Tauranga.

STEWARD, Cedric John. RNZN, (NZ13110), Commodore Auckland 24-3-81, and Rear Admiral – CNS 4-83 to 1/86 – Korea, Borneo HMNZS Kaniere, HMNZS Royalist, HMNZS Tutira, and HMNZS Canterbury Passed away peacefully on 6 October 2023. Loved husband of the late Antoinette and loved father of three sons, Mark, Brett and John. Adored by grandchildren Alistair, Alex, Tom, Will, Jamie, Daniel, Christy, Laura and Flynn. Loved great-grandad to Imogen. A service will be held in the Naval Memorial Chapel, 40 Queens Parade, Devonport, on Thursday, October 12 October at 10am. Please provide a photo ID at the entrance.

KININMONT Noel (Skin) William. NZ15309 RO(G)1 was born 25 May 1939 and crossed the bar on October 9, 2023. A service to celebrate the life of Noel will be held at the Whangamata RSA at 11.00 am 12 October 2023. Noel joined the RNZN 27 Jan 1955 and served in HMNZ Ships TAMAKI, HAWEA, PHILOMEL, ROYALIST, IRIRANGI, OTAGO and WAKEFIELD. He left the RNZN 17 May 1965 Noel is survived by his wife Sheryll (Blue). LAMB, Douglas Stanley. NZ14196 CPOPTI Joined 1/52 Peacefully on 4 October 2023 surrounded by family after a long illness aged 89 years. Beloved husband of Dawn, much loved father of Elizabeth, Rae and Corrina. Loved grandad of Richard, Kathleen, Meg, Gene and Max. Great-granddad of Scarlette and Rex. Treasured memories. The funeral service for Doug will be held on Tuesday 10 October at 11:00 am at All Souls Chapel, Purewa, St Johns Road Meadowbank. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to Alzheimer’s NZ. HALL, Geoffrey Philip (Nobby). Ex RN/RNZN POME/CANMAN, Joined 78. Born February 15, 1948. Passed away on October 7, 2023 aged 75 years after a short illness, in Whitianga. Adored husband of Mary, much loved father of Laurna and Sophie. Son of the late Geoff and Phyllis Hall. Beloved brother of Sue, Gill, Annie, Martin and Sally. Brother-in-law, father-in-law, uncle and Poppa to Eden, Lila, Zane and Zoe. Proud Royal NZ Naval officer. We will remember you always and forever. God Bless xx
