Much loved and precious husband of Edna. Adored father of Sandra (and Wayne) Bowman, and Andrea Hislop. Cherished Pop to his grandchildren, Miranda Garozzo, Felicite King, Todd Bowman, and Claire Bowman, and great grandchildren Emma, Ryan and Hannah. A special place in our hearts always. So Treasured. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at St. Columba’s Presbyterian Church, 176 Gloucester St, Taradale, on Wednesday, November 30, at 1.30pm, followed by interment at Taradale Cemetery. HODGE, George Fergus RNZ Navy, Stoker, NZ9220, WWII. On Friday, November 18, 2016, peacefully at Wairau Hospital. Aged 92 years. Loved husband of Mary. Dad to the late William and Lynley, and Christine, and grandfather to the five grandchildren. Eldest son of the late Jack and Ruth Hodge. Brother and brother-in-law of Joyce and the late Len, the late Doreen and the late Mick, the late Harold and the late Irene. Uncle to his nieces and nephews. Much loved husband of the late Judie, dearly loved Dad of Ash, and Angela (London). Cherished Granddad of Ian Jr and father-in-law of Izabela. Ian has been privately cremated. SWENEY, Herbert John. Chief Petty Officer NZ7650 NZ Navy WWII. Passed away peacefully on 12 November 2016. Dearly loved husband of the late June. Respected and treasured Father and Father-In-Law of Adrianne and Roy, Katherine and Trevor, Andrew and Debbie. Adored Grandpa to Ian, Philip and Ashleigh, Stephanie, Geoffrey, Scott, Nicole and Ben.
