SNOWDEN, Henry. WWII NZ 9320 2ND NZEF, RNZN. Sig. Arctic Convoy to and from Russia. Aged 89 years. Slipped away to become a shining star in the Southern Skies on 24 March 2015 at Edmund Hillary Rest Home, Remuera. Born 31 October 1925 in Kawakawa, grew up in Ngaruawahia, participated as cox then rower in the Rowing Club, played for Rugby League. Henry was a taxi proprietor for over 50 years, starting in Ngaruawahia then Hamilton and later Auckland. Loved and remembered by family and friends for his hard work, humbleness and generosity. Leaves behind children Marion Snowden (Seattle, USA), Terry and Sue Snowden (Taupo) and Gordon and Wendy Snowden (Australia), Jessie Snowden (Auckland), mother of his children. His late wife Colleen Snowden, stepchildren Tina and Rod Edwards, Philip and Terry Walker and their families, through all the good times, remembered with love. Cherished by many grand and great grandchildren in New Zealand and Australia. Leaves us with many treasured memories and now resting at peace.
