We served together at HMNZS Irirangi. Kevin’s quiet confidence and steady professionalism made him an outstanding Leading Radioman. Beyond his uniform, Kevin [affectionately known as Polly] was a notable athlete, full of energy and strength, quietly encouraging others to do their best. All in all, a thorough gentleman. Though our time together was brief, I am lucky to have known Kevin. Fair winds and following seas, shipmate. RIP.
I remember young Joe with much fondness. Joe was an excellent radio operator and a great bloke – reliable – generous, and full of heart. Joe’s big smile and memories of his engaging spirit will remain forever. Time now to join some of your old shipmates who are ready to welcome you aboard the good ship: Everlasting Fun and Friendship.
