BERRY, Lionel NZ 7542, Petty Officer, RNZN (last surviving member of the HMNZS Achilles Cruiser). Member of Lodge Rongotea No 146, former Grand Provincial Master. Of Palmerston North. On Friday 3rd May 2024 peacefully at Palmerston North Hospital. Aged 97. Leaves behind beloved wife Heather, son Christopher, daughter Holly, and his twin sons Lionel Jnr, and Edwin Berry. Grandad of all his grand and great-grandchildren. Messages for the Berry family, c/- PO Box 5191, Palmerston North 4441. A service for Lionel will be held at the Naval Men’s Club, Palmerston North, at a later date.

KING, Michael Robert. RNZN No. 106226 Passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, 15 May 2024. Dearly loved husband and friend to Kate, much loved and respected father to Peter (deceased), David and Brent. More recently Dad to our “adopted” daughter Lynleigh Black. Our grateful thanks to Brent’s partner Dianne for her expertise in looking after Michael, we would have really struggled without her. Our thanks to the lovely ladies from Cranford Hospice, donations in Michael’s name would be most welcome. A family Mass and private cremation has already taken place.

PERKINS, David Alexander H18591 RNZN. 12 January 1945 – 29 May 2024. David passed away at his home with his wife by his side, Aged 79 years. Dearly loved Husband of Janice. Loved Father of Wendy, Roger and Natalie. Treasured Poppy of Taylor, Jess and Elise. “You will be sadly missed”. In accordance with David’s wishes a private cremation has been held.
