ROGERS, Frances Catherine (RNZN, Leading Hand #1307) Peacefully on May 9, 2019, at Christchurch Hospital. Aged 73 years. Dearly loved wife of Colin for 50 years. Loved mother of Christine, Steven, and Brian. Loved nana of Caitlyn, Hannah, and Emma and loved sister of John, Barry, Peter, Jenny, and the late David. CLARK, Clive John. (ex RNZN 18868) born 2 May 1950 passed away peacefully 20 years too early on 4th May 2019. Loving, devoted husband to Anne. Fun loving Dad to Sarah and Bevan, Scott and Keryn, Lisa and Natasha. Even more fun loving Pop to Jordan, Dani, Taylor, Dylan, Daisy, Tallulah, Samantha and Michaela. He was simply the best. HEWSON, Robert Charles (Bob). On 2 May 2019, passed away at home from a short illness, aged 71 years. Loved husband of Moya for 53 years. Loved father to Carol and Rob, Dion and Rebecca and Robert; and very much loved Poppa to his many grandchildren. Service to Navy 18292 HMNZS Otago, Fire Brigade Blue Watch Christchurch, Police 4836 and Port of Tauranga Security. As to Bob’s wishes, he has been privately cremated. SMITH, Howard Campbell. RNZN 16553. Aged 76 years. Passed away on 4 May 2019. Much loved husband of Odette, loved father and father-in-law of Mike and Kim, Raychel and Fabio, Brendon and Anna, Jared and Lauren. WERE, Valentine Wilson (Val). Captain RNZN 11885 WWII. We were so lucky to have our kind and loving father, Val, for as long as we did. He passed away peacefully on 1 May 2019 at Northbridge Rest Home aged 95. Only son of the late Mary Anstruther, much loved husband of the late Joy, treasured father of Virginia and Tony, loving grandfather of Jahan and Gareth, great-grandfather of Jonathan and Kye. Always an intrepid traveler, you’re now on your final voyage and we will miss you greatly. Fair winds dear Dad. A service will be held at The Memorial Chapel of St Christopher, Naval Base, Queens Parade, Devonport on Thursday 9 May 2019, at 11:00am.
