STUDHOLME, Diana Mary: WREN: 279. On March 21, 2020, peacefully at home, aged 96. The eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs L V Lawrence. Dearly loved wife of the late Daniel Studholme. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Ned and Robyn, and Anna and Roddy. Loved Granny of Louise, Tom and Jono, and Guy and Caroline, and her 7 great-grandchildren. As we are not able to gather and farewell Diana at a service, we can do this ourselves by raising a toast to her at 3.00pm on Friday and remember Diana in our own way. COLLETT, Sandra Joan (Sandy): At Wellington Hospital on Wednesday 15th March 2020 after a short aggressive illness. Beloved wife of Mike, mother of the late Andrea; Tony and Michelle, and Nana of Matthew and McKenzie. Godmother of Tony and Kyle. Sister to Peter and Pam, Darcy and Marie and Jeff. Special thanks to Dr Louis Kirton and the staff at Wellington Hospital for taking such lovely care of Sandy. SAMS, Michael Conway, (Mike) M16952, PO, RNZN, Malaysia. Born 6.12.44 Died 15.03.20 Eldest son of the late Fay and Cling Sams. Loved husband of Natalie. Brother to Shirley, Rodney, and the late Charles. A very much-loved Uncle to all his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A much- loved Granddad, Great Grandad and Brother-in-law. Special thanks to Whanganui Hospital Emergency Department, Dr Thompson and all the nurses and staff that cared for Mike. A service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held in the Cleveland Chapel, 179 Ingestre Street, Whanganui on Thursday 19 March 2020, at 1:30pm.

EASTON, Noel Bevan. (Y20745 LT RNZN) Passed away peacefully on Tuesday 10 March 2020 at 2342 hours, he fought a very brave fight and was surrounded by family. Much loved husband of Bev, he will be missed by his siblings Bruce, Gail, and David (deceased) and by Bev and Noel’s family Rachel, Sonya, Matthew (deceased), Jonpaul, Julianne and their grandchildren Starzia, Shanaya, Lennox, Kayla, Emily, Easton and great grandie Spencer. Stand down sailor, your watch is over fair winds and following seas shipmate. A service for Noel will be held at North Shore Memorial Park Crematorium Chapel on Monday 16 March at 1.00pm. PRINGLE, Dennis George. Born June 30, 1944. Passed away on March 07, 2020. LTCDR, RNZN Retired Service No 16712. A gentle, honourable man, set sail on his final voyage peacefully at home surrounded by all of his family. Beloved and adored husband, best friend and soulmate of Sandra for 54 years. Adored Father and Father-In-Law of Lynn and Glenn, Jodi and Dani and Bertie. Grandfather of Tessa and Rose, plus Grandad to11 furbabies. No flowers please – Donations to Rosa Counselling Trust. GREENWOOD, Douglas Harry (Doug): (No 13581 RNZN) (Ex-Air NZ) On March 5, 2020, passed peacefully at Christchurch Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband of Beverley, much-loved dad and father-in-law of Mark Greenwood and Melinda Andrews (Sydney), Karen Greenwood (Gold Coast), and Sarah and Duane Peterson. Loved and treasured grandad/poppa of Taine and LillyGreenwood (Sydney), Natasha and Craig Thomson (Gold Coast), Amy-Lee and Kyle Peterson, and great-grandad of Jai Thomson (Gold Coast). Loved brother and brother-in-law of Patricia and Richard Ellis, and the late Rodger and Maureen Greenwood, Doug was a loved uncle and a great friend to many. HAYWARD Martin Daniel Petty Officer Radioman Crossed the Bar 3 March 2020. It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Martin Daniel Hayward, RNZN (Ret.) on 3 March 2020. Eldest son of Cecil Matene (Blokey) and Pare, brother of Iris, Douglas, Ted and William (deceased). Loved husband to Kiriraukawa, father of Geoff and Andrew, stepfather to Maraea, Charles and Rangimawhiti Jean, and koro and papa to his mokopuna. Adored brother and brother in law of Peter and Kath, Leigh and Kerry. He will be resting at 40 Domain Road, Whakatane, and service will be held at the Whakatane Crematorium at 11.30 am on Friday 6 March. COLEMAN, Peter William (Pete). Reg. No: H21604, Royal NZ Navy, Chief Petty Officer Master at Arms. Principal Corrections Officer at Waikeria. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 3rd March 2020, after a courageous battle. Cherished partner of Sue. Dad to Tracey, Richard, Kathryn and Jason. Much loved brother of Sandra, David, Noeline and Jane. “A brave, proud man with so much dignity.” A celebration of Pete’s life will be held at The Te Awamutu Bible Chapel, Chapel Drive, Te Awamutu, on Monday, 9th March 2020 at 1:00pm followed by a private cremation.
