NEWMAN David (Jiggs) Franklyn NZ14578 LSIG It is with great sadness that I let you know our beautiful Dad, Grandie, Digby, Diggy, Dave “Jiggs” Newman passed away yesterday,1 February 2022, from complications of recently diagnosed pancreatic cancer. As his decline was so swift, Dad was not burdened with the worry and fear that usually comes with a cancer diagnosis. The week before, he was enjoying his usual morning 2km walk to the beach followed by reading the newspaper and doing the crossword on his back porch. He had also had a wonderfully social festive season catching up with family and friends at home on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane. In true Dave style, he lived life to the fullest till the very end. He was just short of his 85th birthday which would have been on 29th March. Dad is reunited with our Mum now, his beloved Marina. Thank you all for the friendship, love and adventures you shared with our Dad over his long life. We will hold a funeral service at Gregson & Weight Funeral Directors, Caloundra, Sunshine Coast at 3 pm Friday 18th February 2022 to honour Dad’s life. In these difficult pandemic times, please do not feel you have to travel to great lengths to the service. We will arrange a live stream link as well. If I have missed anyone, please pass this message along.
