ANDERSON, Edward Barrie – Sub Lt, R.N.Z.N.V.R, WWII Formerly of Eketahuna On 31st March, 2016 peacefully at Lansdowne Park, Masterton, in his 94th year. Dearly beloved husband of Joyce for over 70 years. Much loved and respected father and father-in-law of Sandy and Diane, Jane and John Armstrong, Hamish and Jenny, Bunter and Mary, John and Kathy, David and Magali. Much loved grandad of his 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. OLLIVER, Clifton John (Cliff). LTCDR RNZNVR Died peacefully aged 85 on Wednesday 30th March 2016 at Caughey Preston Private Hospital. Dearly loved husband of Annette. Cherished father of Annabelle, William, and Andrew. Father in law of David Claridge and Sonia Piccablotto. Proud grandpa Cliff to James, Ella, and Anita. Fond brother in law of Juju and family to Kate, Patrick, and Tara. A service to celebrate Cliff’s life will be held at 10:30am on Monday 4th April at Somervell Presbyterian Church, corner of Greenlane and Remuera Roads, Remuera. JACKMAN, Maurice Harvey. RNZN WWII. Died at the age of 94. A kind and generous father. Sadly missed by family and many friends. KING, Maxwell William (Bill). (Service No. 7093, Submarine Detector, RNZN, WWII). Peacefully in Thames, on 18th March, 2016; in his 91st year. Devoted and dearly beloved husband of Nola for the past 69 years. Much loved Dad of Marilyn and Terry, Grant (deceased), and Julie. Loved Grandpop of his 5 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. CORBETT, William Norman (Bill). (Service No. 10181, Able Seaman, RNZN, WWII). Peacefully at the Booms Rest Home, Thames, on Wednesday 16th March, 2016; in his 91st year. Dearly loved husband of Vilma for 65 years, loved father of Jill and John, John and Teena, Alex and Penny. Adored grandfather of 10 grandchildren, great- grandfather of 27 and great- great-grandfather of 1. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Twentymans Grahamstown Chapel, Kirkwood St, Thames, on Tuesday 22nd March, at 11am, followed by private cremation. TAIROA, Ian Ian is lying in state at his sisters house in Whanganui. People are welcome to go before the service to her house – 11 Konini St – Whanganui. The service itself is Private and will start at 11am on Friday 19th March. That will be followed by a service at the Aramoho Cemetery, approx 12.30pm. People can go to the Ceremony at the cemetery.

CAMERON Alastair Mark (Al) R13562, WOPTI (Rtd). Al passed away Sun night at his home in Auckland. Al joined the RNZN as a Radar Plotter (RP) on 31 Dec 50 and served until 24 Dec 73. In 1953 Al changed Branches to the PTI trade until he left in 73 where he went on to teach physical education at Takapuna Grammar. Al re-joined the RNZN on the 26 May 81 until 2 Nov 84. Al served in Bases Tamaki, Watson, Tasman, Irirangi and Wakefield. His sea service saw him posted to HMNZ Ships Bellona, Hawea, Pukaki, Rotoiti, Blackpool and Waikato. A funeral service will be held at St Christopher’s Chapel, DNB on Mon 21 Mar 16 at 1030. Al will be remembered for his enthusiasm and zest for life.

BROWN, William Elliot (Bill): RNZNVR 0/7372. Passed away peacefully on 11 March 2016; aged 96 years, surrounded by loving family. Loved husband of the late Moira and dearly loved father and father-in-law of Paula and Peter Clarke and Murray and Glennys (QLD). Cherished grandfather of Fraser (UK), Merran and Mike Powell, Hamish and Sharon Brown (UK) and Duncan and Cara Brown. Much loved Poppa Billy of Lucy and Emily Powell and Imogen Brown. GREENWOOD, John Edgar. Lt Cdr RNZN (Ret) Service No. J104290 At age 69, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 7th 2016 after a long illness. TOPINE, Anthony Graham (T.C). Passed away peacefully at Redwood Home and Hospital aged 70 years. Beloved soul mate of Beverly. Father and Father in law to Stacey Jane, Jack, Marcus and Jodie.
