Kelly (Auckland) and the late Kristina. Loved Grandad of Jarred and Geoffrey. Friends are invited to attend a service for John at the Bulls RSA, 55 High Street, Bulls on Tuesday February 1 at 11am. Crematorium to be private. John joined the Navy May 1958 and left in March 1968. He served in TAMAKI, PHILOMEL, ROYALIST, IRIRANGI, ENDEAVOUR, PUKAKI, WAKEFIELD and LACHLAN.
Brian James STEVENSON. NZ1238 Able Seaman RNZN, Korea. On January 26, 2011, aged 78 years. Loved darling husband of Kay. Loved father and fatherinlaw of Grant and Julie Murray, and grandfather of Jason, Jade, and Haley. Treasured friend of the Strachan, O’Connor and Wellwood families. A service for Brian will be held at Crestwood, 615 Heretaunga Street East, Hastings, on Saturday January 29 at 11.00am. A private cremation will follow. John William OGLE. (Service no. 13462, AB Seaman RNZN). Passed away suddenly 20 January 2011 at One Tree Point. Loved and loving father to Natasha, Lisa, and the late Charlene, and granddad to Rico. Treasured partner and dear friend of Helen Cowley. Caring stepgranddad to Lucretia, Troy, Trent, and Kurt. A wonderful and loving carer to our mother (Chris, Rob, Wayne, and Bev). A service for John will be held in the chapel of Newberrys Funeral Home, Apirana Avenue, Regent, Whangarei, at 11:30am, Wednesday, 26 January 2011, followed by interment at the Maunu Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Maunu, Whangarei. Stewart Leslie HOLMES. Ex LMM RNZN. On Thursday, 20 January, 2011, died unexpectedly but peacefully at home; aged 38 years. Much loved partner of Rachel. Beloved Dad of Sophie. Loved brother of Neville. My love, my life, my light. A service will be held at the North Harbour Chapel of Dil’s Funeral Services, 185 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany, on Tuesday, 25 January at 3pm, followed by a private cremation. All enquiries to 443-3491. Stewart served in PHILOMEL, SOUTHLAND, WELLINGTON, TUI, and CANTERBURY. Stewart joined the Navy in Feb 1990 and left in Sep 1996.
Bartlett Eric (Bart) CREED NZ 5608 LDG TEL. On 16 Jan 2011. Bart served in TAMAKI, PHILOMEL, North Head and DRAKE between 30 July 1942 – 19 June 1944.
Gordon David FORREST – TEL NZ4323, RNZN WWII. Passed away peacefully at Woodlands Hospital, Motueka on 16 January 2011. Dearly loved and devoted husband to Joyce. Dearly loved father and fatherinlaw of Colleen and John Stokes, Glenda and Bruce Newton, Kay and the late Barry Thompson, and Shelley and Allan Gordon. Loved and respected Grandad of Craig and Jared, Michelle, Carl, and Hamish, Hayley, and Jasmihn, and their partners. And special Great-Grandad to all of his great grandchildren. The family thank Woodlands Hospital for their special care. Gordon’s farewell service will be held at the Motueka RSA, High Street at 1.00pm on Wednesday 19 January 2011. Gordon joined Feb 1942 and left Feb 1946. Gordon served in PHILOMEL, WELLINGTON W/T, KAHU, HDHF 1188 and MURITAI.
Douglas John (Pincher) Martin – CPO CK R14597 On 16 January 2011 at North Shore Hospital. Pincher joined the RNZN September 1952 and left August 1972. He served in TAMAKI, PHILOMEL, HAWEA, IRIRANGI, LACHLAN, ROYALIST, TARANAKI, OTAGO and BLACKPOOL.
Stuart Raymond BRYDON – Radio Operator 2 No 13619 passed away 18 January 2011 peacefully. Much loved father of Greg and Fleur. Grandad of Kali, Sarah, Patrick and Matthew. Will be missed. A Funeral Service will be held at Faithfull’s, 35 Red Beach Road Hibiscus Coast on Friday 21 January at 11.00am. Stuart joined the Navy May 1951 and left June 1961. He served in TAMAKI, IRIRANGI, HAWEA, ROTOITI, PUKAKI and PHILOMEL.
Douglas Linton Grey TUCK. Telegraphist RNZN No. 2659, 2nd WW. On 18 January 2011 peacefully at Te Wiremu House, Gisborne. Formally of Tolaga Bay, aged 89 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Joyce, much loved father of Barry and Ian Tuck, and Diane Hasseldine, fatherinlaw of Judith, Julie and Richard and a loved and cherished grandfather and greatgrandfather. The funeral service will be held at Evans Chapel, Ormond Road, Gisborne at 11am on Tuesday 25th January followed by interment at Serviceman’s Lawn, Tolaga Bay cemetery.
