HMNZS KANIERE 1951-54
This is not a Health and Safety advertisement – sandals and barefeet. Not too much fat on these sailors… but yes times have changed. Can anyone recognise anyone in the image. Thanks to Navy Today magazine.

Bit before my time but reinforces the need to identify everyone in photos as many of us getting long in the tooth with fading memories. I am making an extra effort to identify people in my photo library – excluding photos of ships company crews (too many) – before i kark. I do hope someone will be able to help out with the identity of these Kaniere crew members.
Thanks Mike. The critical things are who, when, where, and what. I’ve got some of my Dad’s photos, and that kind of detail really helps add depth to them.
1954-55 Commission. Memory knacked so my apologies if any one of them sees the photo
red but the head between the 2 PO’s is Ian Newman, Killick Chef (as they are outside the Galley door) The L/H is ex RN Seaman, but the names of the rest have gone!! I think the POs are the OA and the Tas PO.
