Happy 80th Birthday Noel

Shipmates and family gathered over the weekend at the Whangamata RSA to celebrate the 80th birthday of Noel (Skin) Kininmont. A longtime resident of Whangamata, Noel enlisted in the Royal New Zealand Navy in January 1955 as a Boy Tel and served in HMNZS HAWEA, ROYALIST, IRIRANGI, OTAGO and PHILOMEL.   Noel departed his Navy life on 24 May 1965 as an RO(G) 1.

Noel is an active member of Coastguard Whangamata and operates as a ‘home base’ radio operator.  Click on image to enlarge.
