Guess Who
Here is an image of a young communicator. This nondescript identity was photographed on his 16th birthday at Tamaki in January 1948. The Petty Officer who took the picture was not really fussed about the back drop as he had chosen the “Men’s Heads”. My only claim to fame was when I auditioned as the “Organist” at a Divine Service one Sunday at Irirangi in 1952. NOCA and Padre Mayo-Harris were invited down by Laurie Carr. The audition would not have made NZ has Talent but I did get a handshake from the Padre for my efforts and hymns are not the easiest things to play especially when you only play by ear….
