A. HMNZS Monowai as a Landing Ship Infantry (Large)  Monowai decommissioned as an Armed Merchant Cruiser 18 June 1943 and refitted as a LSI.  Re-commissioned
February 1944.

    Armed merchantman HMNZS Monowai. Has a long history which I’m sure someone will elborate on.

    This appears to be the HMS Monowai in about 1944? She had by then been converted to an assault landing ship.
