Dusty in Hospital – update
Just to advise that H.R. (Dusty) Millar has been taken to Wanganui hospital on Wednesday with a small heart attack. The Doctor has advised that he is okay but will get a pace maker before he comes out.
Update 0700 – 30 Nov 10
Dusty is looking better then he has for a while but is unlikely that he will go down to Wellington tomorrow. Looks like the transfer to Wellington Hospital has been delayed so will mean another week in hospital at Wanganui unless it is delayed again. He said they are like mushrooms. Feed them bull shit and keep them in the dark. Barbara will be going in to see him in three days time so hopefully more news then.
Update 1600 – 30 Nov 10
Just heard from Dusty, They have changed their minds, he is flying out in two hours to Wellington. Having the op early tomorrow. If all goes well they bung him on a bus to come home. If not they fly him back to Wanganui hospital.
Update 1730 – 1 Dec 10
Dusty had his operation at 9.30 this morning. Came through it okay. He will be staying in Wellington Hospital until 3pm tomorrow (2 Dec) Ward 6 South. An age concern person is picking him up and bringing him home so at least he doesn’t need to come home on the bus. Next email will be from Dusty himself, so standby. I will have to find ways of keeping him from fussing over his birds for a week or two. Barbara

Update 4 Dec 2010
My thanks to all for your good wishes and concern for my health. Briefly, about 6 weeks ago I apparently had a minor heart attack but I was not aware of it at the time. There followed about 4 weeks of dizzy spells and cold sweats, so I decided to see my doc. After an examination and a blood test I went home, only to be told that afternoon to get ready as the ambulance was coming to take me to hospital. More tests followed and it was decided I needed a pacemaker to regulate my heart beat. I was flown to Wellington by air ambulance on Tuesday (30 Nov), the pacemaker was implanted Wednesday (1 Dec) and I came home on Thursday. At the moment I am fine, just a little bit sore and under strict instructions to take it easy. The battery in the machine is supposed to last 10 years so I hope I am around when it needs changing ha ha !!
Once again my kind regards and love to you all.
Dusty (Bionic Man)
