WICKENDEN, Thomas Edward (Tom):(RN No. 727638 & RNZN No. 12364, WWII). After a short illness; with his three daughters at his side Tom passed away on the 20th January 2018. Cherished husband and soulmate of Norah for 63 years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Dianne and Steve (deceased) Eade, Margaret and Ross (deceased) Stokes, Christine and Nick Wezenbeek. Loving Grandad of his 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Rest peacefully Dad. According to Tom’s wishes a private family service has been held.
CORNWALL, Andrea Joy (nee Hemsley). Navy No: RNZNCOMMS M29038. Police No: RNZPNSACCG63 Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, after a 4 year battle with cancer. Dearly loved by her husband Wayne, her son and daughter- in-law Luke and Christine and all her extended family and friends. Andrea was an amazing inspiration to many. Service was held at St Patrick’s Catholic Church on 23rd January. A celebration party for Andrea will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to Lake Taupo Hospice Trust (Inc.) On January 15, 2018, peacefully at Nurse Maude Hospice, aged 45 years. ‘Battled with valour’ Loved husband of Sarah, adored father of Jamie and Josh, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to many. DOIG, John Everton – ex RNZN POEL. John passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 after a long struggle with cancer. Aged 84 years. He was a loved and respected brother of Barry and Trevor and the late Cecily, Valerie, Alan and Graeme. And brother-in-law of Lyn, Peter, June, and Barbara. He will be missed. A funeral has already been held.
SCHOFIELD, Arthur John: Sgt 443429 1st W.W.C. Reg, and NZ 8045 Tel RNZN, of Feilding. On January 2, 2018, in his 95th year. Husband of the late Toss (nee Fairbrother) and Joyce (Corbett). Loved father of Diane and John Couper (Australia), stepfather of Marianne and Glen Holmes (Palmerston North), and Gay and Ross Wilkins (Ohope), grandfather of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, much loved brother of Ella. A service to Celebrate Arthur’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, North Street, Feilding on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1.00pm, followed by private cremation.
