Christmas Message from our President
Christmas Message from our President
On behalf of the Committee of the RNZNCA, I wish all Association members and their families all the very best for a safe and happy Christmas and New Year period, and for a healthy and prosperous 2025.
Hoping that you are able to have a wonderful time with family and extended whanau over the Christmas season, and create many happy memories with them. For those separated from family by distance or unable to get together with them for whatever reason, may you at least be able to contact them via video calls.
This year we finally managed to hold the Association Reunion after having to initially postpone and finally cancel the reunion that had been scheduled for 2021. It was good to meet up again with some old faces after all this time and also meet some new members. As usual, the reunion was an enjoyable occasion. Unfortunately, with the passage of time since the last reunion, some members who would normally be attending are no longer with us. Their presence was missed. Our thoughts go out to the surviving members of their family.
Events this year showed once again that we live in an ever changing world. Some were for the good, others no so much. It will be at least interesting to see how things pan out next year as a result of happenings over the last two months in particular. Almost certainly, these will be unlikely to improve world peace over the year.
Celebrate the season in the true spirit of Christmas, which is a time to be mindful and considerate of our fellow men and spreading goodwill and happiness to those around us. Look after yourself and your family over the holiday season. If you have to drive anywhere, drive carefully.
All the very best for a happy and healthy 2025.
Gary Houghton President RNZNCA December 2024
