Changing of the Queens Colour

You may have read that the Queens Colour for the RNZN has now been changed.  The original colour was presented in 1953 and since then with the passing of time the colour haD deteriorated to such an extent that it had to be replaced.  This was done in the late 70’s and again recently at the 70th Anniversary of the RNZN.  Below are images taken of the 200-man guard and new colour at a ceremony held in Wellington on 1st October 2011.  Images courtesy of the Naval Photographic Centre, HMNZS PHILOMEL.
