Book – The Long Engagement

I have recently finished reading a book about life in the RNZN (1953-1967). It is well worth reading and provides lots of laughs and brings back fond (and not so fond) memories. How did the navy function in those days considering the escapades that matelots got up to? Some of mine (which were quite serious) pale into insignificance compared to many others. When reading the book, remember that it is about the author’s recollections and as time goes by memories can be distorted.
