Australian Veterans
The symposium referred to in the article was held on Friday, 30 September, but the article itself is worth a read to see what action is being taken and initiatives are being brought in by the Veterans community in Australia. It may take something like this by the NZ Veterans community to get anything done here.
The article is a good read, as it seems to capture most of the New Zealand Military Veteran aches and pains of trying to encourage MfV/VANZ to action both the 2021 Veterans Advisory Board and the New Zealand Covenant/Kaweneta recommendations. In a word, it is PAINSTAKING with no end game in sight! Old Chinese proverb springs to mind: ‘when Peeing into the wind – better make sure you have very strong big umbrella!’ Also, if the Opposition spokesperson for Veteran Affairs decided to make time to rattle the cage, it would be a good thing!
