Information stealer cybercrime and credential theft is on the rise, which means your most important online accounts and data are at risk of compromise.
Information stealer malware, also known as info stealers, are a type of malware that cybercriminals use to secretly steal personal and corporate information from your device. In recent months, thousands of Australians have fallen victim to info stealers.

Stolen data can include:
–    login details and credentials
–    web browser autofill data like credit card details
–    messaging and email chat logs including contacts
–    files such as document and text files
–    personal data like addresses, medical records and date of birth. 

You are not powerless in the face of the threat posed by info stealer malware. 

Key actions you can take today to mitigate against info stealers are: 
–    setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA), such as a passkey where available
–    using a reputable password manager
–    creating unique, complex and long passphrases
–    installing software updates as soon as they are available.
