AN OLD BUNTING AND SPARKER

Two old communicators reconnected recently in Tauranga. Kevin Watt (left and Rod Berry on right), who joined the RNZN in 1966, reminisced about their shared beginnings. On completion of training, they were both posted to WAIKATO, after which they lost contact when Kevin left the Navy in 1970 to pursue a different career path, working first for the NZ Post Office and later for Air New Zealand. He eventually moved to Australia with his wife Anne, settling in Brisbane. Kevin is now considering a move to Tauranga and may soon become a more familiar face in the community. Let’s welcome Kevin back into the fold by leaving a comment on this post!
Well I never would have imagined seeing you again Kevin Watt. I was a friend of your younger brother Craig. We were taken by your tales of your navy experiences so much so that we were committed to joining. Craig changed his mind but I carried through. Something I have no regrets about. I also met your other brother, Neville who joined up also. Small world.
