Casual Get Together – 7 Feb 2013

Your committee has started an initiative to increase the social interaction of members through informal lunchtime get together’s particularly for retired members or those on holiday breaks.  The concept is to arrange a time and venue for an informal casual lunch on a regular basis (3 -6 Monthly), this could be at the local RSA, Cossy Club, Cafe or Local Pub providing they serve meals and drinks and you can just walk in without booking or giving attendee numbers in advance.
These are intended purely as informal opportunities to casually catch up with other members for a ‘pub’ meal and a drink, all at the individual’s expense.  Numbers don’t matter even if only a couple turn up or no one as it requires no effort or expense to those organising it.
Your Regional Coordinators have also been made aware of the concept.  It is considered a great way for members in respective regions to also meet a little more regularly than the more formal 3 yearly reunions which normally require travel.
Our first Auckland get together is on February 7th Feb 2013 at 1200 with a casual lunch at the Birkenhead RSA and we intend to have these luncheons at 6 monthly intervals.  Watch out on the blog for notice when regional get together’s are arranged.
