WILLIAMS, Cedric Stanley. Royal Navy DMX86782. Passed away peacefully on Monday, 30 January 2012; aged 90 years. Dearly beloved husband of the late Peggy. Uncle of Simon and his wife Jane, and Nigel, and great- uncle to Lucy and Matthew (all UK). At Cedric’s request, a private service has been held. Special thanks to all who cared for Cedric at Ranfurly Veterans Home and Hospital.
BENJAMIN, John Sydney. (NZ11203 RNZN Korea) On January 30, 2012, peacefully at Parkwood Rest Home after a short illness, aged 81 years. Loved husband of Rhua for over 50 years, much loved father and father- in-law of Adrian and Jenny, Graeme and Yvonne, Joanne and Graham, Annette, and Karen and Steve Benjamin- Agnew. Cherished granddad to all his 12 grandchildren, and special friend of John Hines. Many thanks to all at Christchurch Hospital and Parkwood for the care and support given to John over the last 3 months. The Funeral Service to celebrate John’s life will be held in our Kerrs Road Chapel, corner Kerrs and Pages Roads, Linwood, on Tuesday February 7 at 2.00pm. DUNCAN, Arthur James.  NZ13267 RNZN, Merchant Navy, Korea.  Died peacefully at Buller Hospital, Westport, on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.  Aged 81 years.  Husband of Aroha, Father of Sharyn, Janet, Tony and Lisa Hune, and Jinalee and Verran and a loved Grandfather of his many Grandchildren.  Resting at his daughters residence, 34 Disraeli St, Westport.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Canice’s Catholic Church, Brougham St, Wesport on Saturday January 28th, at 11am.  Thereafter internment in the RSA Section of the Orowaiti Cemetery.
WILSON, Trevor John (John). Royal Navy WW2. C/JX422422. Passed away on 20 January 2012 aged 87. Treasured husband of Betty (deceased). Dearly loved and admired father and father-in-law of John and Lee, Lyndsay, Tina and Kurt. Much loved poppa of Aiden, Matthew, Cody, Nathan, Jorja. Brother-in-law to Audrey and Alf. Best mate of his beloved dogs Fraser, Morse and Angie. A funeral service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Monday (today) 23 January at 10.30am in the Fountains Memorial Chapel, Cnr Wood and Elliott Streets Papakura.
JOHNSON, Clarence (Clarrie). LSEA NZD1679 NZ Division, Royal Navy; Royal New Zealand Navy, KEV, River Plate Veteran, HMS Achilles. Clarrie died peacefully on 20 January 2012 at Middlemore Hospital at the age of 93 years after a long and full life. Dearly loved husband of the late Margery and loved father of the late Carole. Dearly loved by his daughter Jennifer, his son-in-law Ted, and his only grandson John Krestanowich (all of Winnipeg, Canada). He will always be remembered; now at rest. A service for Clarrie will be held at All Saints Chapel, Purewa, 100 St Johns Road, Meadowbank, Auckland on Saturday 28 January 2012 at 1.30 pm
TE PAA Warren Hemi LRD 30/07/1947 – 21/01/2012. Peacefully at Te Omanga Hospice, Lower Hutt, dearly lived husband of Wendy.Loved son of Selwyn & Amiria Te Paa.Much loved Dad of Bianca & John; Jodie, Brad & Keri; Heidi & Wayne; Harlem & Zalia and Leah and Loved Koro of his Mokopuna and great Mokopuna. Warren will be at Te Mangungu Marae, Cnr of Rata Street and Fleet Street, NaeNae from 1100 Tuesday 24 Jan 2012 until his service to be held in the above Marae on Wednesday 25 Jan 2012 at 1000.  Thereafter private cremation.  Warren joined the Navy in 1965 and was a member of Class CS91 Achilles Division.He left the Navy as an LRD in the 70’s.
BROCKBANK Robert William – ME1 NZ16873 Suddenly on 14 January 2012 aged 67, the result of an aviation accident at Mangalore, Victoria, Australia. Eldest son of the late Bill and Norma. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Jean and Mac, David and Jenny, Jill and Craig. He lived a full and adventurous life and died while embarking enthusiastically on a new found passion. Sadly missed. RIP
CAMPBELL Colin/Ken – NZ15284 Passed away 29 December 2011 (known as Kiwi Ken) in Tweed Heads Hospital NSW Australia. Aged 74 years. Born in Auckland, lived in New Plymouth loved son of Daniel Roy and Amelia Irene. Special notation to Buck Rogers and Don Currie. Joined RNZN 31st Intake, January 6th 1955 as an Electrician. Accepted Navy buy-out scheme about 1961/62. Became a yacht broker in Auckland until 1994. Moved to Australia and spent several years in UK. Became a dance teacher on cruise liners from Southampton and Australia. A private cremation was held at Tweed Heads Memorial Gardens on Wednesday 4th January 2012. Ken’s ashes were scattered out to sea from the mouth of Tweed River near 6 mile reef and Cook Island 1830 Friday 5th January 2012. “Lest we Forget”.
TAIT Alexander Robert (Alex) 9575 RNZN. On January 7, 2012 peacefully at Waikanae. Dearly loved husband of Annette. Much loved father of Robert, Judi and Grant Daradus, Heather and Simon. Loved Granddad of Aaron and Alice, Hayley and John, Liam, Franziska, Natalie and Scott, Felicity and Nick, Rachel and Antony, Anna, David and Great grandsons, Hunter and Tyler. RINTOUL Ralph Peacefully in Wanganui Hospital on Sunday 1 January 2012 aged 87 years old. Ralph served his country on HMNZS Achilles throughout World War 2. Ralph was a dearly loved husband of Wynn and the late Isabella. Treasured father and father in law of Bill and Cate. Much loved Grandfather to Peter, Rachel, Letitica and Peter. Ralph will be sorely missed by his loving family.

Passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital on Monday January 2 2012, aged 88 years, Loved husband of Hilda for sixty years Much loved father and father in law of Keith, Robyn and Kevin, Pauline and Bruce. Dearest Granddad of Jordan, jack, Grace, Kate and Lee. The service for Buster will be held in Trinity Church, Cnr McLaughlins and Bangor Roads, Darfield on Thursday January 5th 2012 at 2pm.
MacGIBBON, Michael John (Bulkey). RNZN WI9202. Of Manakau. Passed away peacefully on 29 December 2011, aged 61 years. Loved companion to Sandra, loved father of Ashleigh. Loved stepfather of Penny, Stephen, Alex and Brooke, brother of Hamish, Duncan and Dougal. Thanks to the staff and management of Arohanui Hospice for their care of Michael. Thank you also to the Levin and Otaki District Nurses for their care and support. A funeral service for Michael will be held at The Funeral Home, 545 Queen Street East, Levin, tomorrow Tuesday 3 January 2012 at 2.00pm.     • I think Bulkhead was a CPOMEA – not sure if he aspired to the rank of WO. MEAs came in two trades Hull (the old Shipwright) and Engine Room and I think Bulkhead was E/R.
