Operational Service

Last year after the Minister of Defence stated that a committee would be formed to conduct a comprehensive review of specific historical non-operational service. Currently the NZDF is in consultation with the RNZRSA, VANZ and the Honours Secretariat on the draft terms of reference for the Non-operational service review. RNZRSA has recommended the review should include but not be limited to Compulsory Military Training and National Service over the period 1950 to 1972, non-operational service in South East Asia from 1950 -1989 and service by New Zealand military personnel in the Antarctic.
