One for your Calendar!

An informal get-together and drinks is being planned at the Hibiscus Coast and Community RSA on 17 January 2026. The gathering is for those matelots who joined the RNZN sixty years ago.

A cash bar will be in operation, and the Restaurant will be open for those who wish to partake.

Communicators from that intake were – Red Scanlon, Kevin Watt, Bob Paul, Eric Campbell, Laurie Coggins, Charlie Matenga, Terrence Schrafft, Stan Foster, Bruce Miller and Rod Berry. It is also at this time we will remember those Communicators from the January 1966 intake who have crossed the bar, Pokiha Hiini, Martin Hayward, Bruce Kenyon and TK Maru.
