RNZN Veteran Thomas Hyndman Ord Sea NZ7089 died in the AirNZ (TE901)Mt. Erebus disaster

RNZN Veteran Thomas Hyndman died in the AirNZ (TE801) Mt. Erebus disaster that occurred on 28 November 1979, and his remains went to an unmarked grave. 
An unresolved remnant of New Zealand’s worst aviation disaster was concluded with the unveiling of a gravestone marking the resting place.
