McCleary, Henry John (Jack) Q.S.M. 10492, A.B, RNZN, WWII Aged 97 years. Passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2023. Loved Husband of Yvonne Margaret (nee McCullough) (Deceased). Beloved and Cherished husband of Sylvia Anne (nee Cunningham) for 57 years. Proud, Devoted, and Loved Dad, and father-in-law of, Jill, Tiger and Michelle, Michael and Evie, David and Emily, and Possum (Deceased). Treasured PopPop to Jaimee-Anne, Jessie-May, Maggie, and Sylvie. WILLIAMS Jack JSEA 1971 20364, CTB 26 August 2023 in Whangarei after a battle with the dreaded rust. he fought hard but time ran out at 11:50 am today. Service on Tuesday other details to follow. He will be at home in Morningside Whangarei and then taken to Haven Falls Crematorium Whangarei on Tuesday.
WHALE John (Jonah) Arthur Chief Radio Supervisor NZ13892. It is with regret that we advise that Jonah crossed the bar on 22 August 2023 in Brisbane Hospital after suffering from Dementia. His wife Molly died at home from a broken heart on Wednesday 23 August 2023. Jonah came to New Zealand from the UK in September 1952 and was posted to IRIRANGI. His wife and family arrived early in 1953 and joined Jonah in Waiouru. Jonah was an LTEL in PUKAKI and served in Korea in 1954. As a Chief Radio Supervisor, he was part of the commissioning crew in TARANAKI in 1961. Jonah also spent time at the Communications Training School as a Typing Tutor. Jonah also served in NGAPONA. A family gathering followed by a private cremation will be held for both of them.

WATSON, Geoffrey Gillespie POWTR U19522 Joined 1/69 It is with hand on heart that I am informing you that PO WTR Geoffrey Watson passed away at 00.03 hrs this morning (01/08/23) while in the Oncology Ward, Nth Sydney Hospital. He has ended his gallant battle with cancer. My wife and flew into Sydney yesterday morning and spent the afternoon with him and his wife Caroline. Geoff’s funeral is planned for Tues 8 Aug but is still to be ratified. The service will have a strong Northern Rugby Football League emphasis as Geoff was made a life member of the RGL Leagues Club just 7 weeks ago and had been the organiser of Sydney North ANZAC Services over recent years.
