Message from Gary Hine
Life is all but surreal when one loses their soul-mate, so I apologise in advance for the poor and inadequate words that follow.
I wish to sincerely thank all of Anne’s shipmates and friends, male and female alike, who attended her funeral or came to the home, to offer their condolences and say farewell to her. Not to mention the multitude of messages from a vast majority of folk who could not be there, many of which were from overseas. I also want to report that she did have specific objectives to be achieved at her funeral and I can state, all of C&C HomeFlt directives were realised. I firmly believe she would have been rapt!! Prior to her passing she stated quite clearly that she was not afraid of dying but viewed this as a new journey in which she will be reunited with her mother and father who she had not seen since she was 2 years old.
Again my real sincere thanks to one and all.

Nice words Gary. My deepest condolences
Kia ora Gary,
Mark and I send lots of aroha your way. I have fond memories of Anne. I still have her novel she sent me. My heart is very sad today, will always treasure our time we shared.
She referred to me as ‘Bill’ and Carena ‘Ben’ because we were a reflection of some Bill and Ben the flower pot men, some kiddie programme back in the day.
She gave me courage and guidance to be who I am today, her a gentle soul, with a beautiful smile, will always be in my heart.
