CRANFIELD, John Edward (Jack). Ex RN, RNZNVR. Born July 20, 1927. Passed peacefully on 28 June 2022 in Launceston, Tasmania aged 94. Sadly missed by his loving wife of 51 years Maureen. Much loved Dad of Charles and Laurie and father-in-law to Diane, Patricia and Marie. Grandad to Amy, John, Matthew and Richard. Great Grandad to Axel, Lily, Maddison, Ryan and Veida and Great Grandfather in law to Alice and Danica. One of life’s gentlemen who will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Private funeral in Launceston.
EDWARDS ‘Pilz’ Brian Henry PSG 16468 ex Yeoman crossed the bar on 29 June 2022 in Murwillumbah, NSW, Australia. Pilz had been in palliative care for the past week. All communications to Christine and family bristine@bigpond.com.au Pilz will be cremated at a private service and his ashes will be taken to the RSA cemetery in Tauranga in the next month or two. There will be a memorial service towards the end of July/early August in Murwillumbah and details will be posted for the interment in Tauranga for those of you that wish to attend
MORRIS, Brian Allan (Snow). Rgt. No. 17832 POME. RNZN. 1947 – 2022. Peacefully at home in Huntly on Wednesday 29 June 2022. Loved husband of Cecellia (deceased). Father of Talia (deceased). Cherished son of Bernard (deceased) and Megan (deceased). Brother of Neil and Lynne (Blenheim), Wayne (deceased), Ian and Lorraine (Taumarunui), Elizabeth (Cambridge), Rex and Fleur (Whangarei), and Margaret and Gary (Australia). Snow will be sadly missed by his many friends and acquaintances which he made throughout his life’s journey, including his many years in the Navy. A Service for Snow will be held at the Lakeside Church & Community Centre, 1 Emmanuel Place, Huntly on Monday 4 July at 11 am. An interment for Snow will take place at the Oturei Urupa, Aratapu, Dargaville on Wednesday 6 July at 12 pm. All communications to the Morris Family C/- P O Box 147, Huntly 3740.
McLEOD, William Rodger (Bill): Joined January 16, 1963 to August 1973 as REC(L) NZ17646 Passed away peacefully on 28 June 2022, age 77. Dearly loved partner of Anne Paterson. Father of Stephen, Simon & Emma-Jane. Loved brother, grandfather and friend to extended family. In accordance with Bill’s wishes a private cremation has been held.
ALSWEILER, Yvonne Dorothy: WRNZNS 371 22 February 1922 – 18 June 2022 After a remarkable 100 years, Yvonne passed away peacefully on Saturday, with her family by her side. Dearly loved wife of the late Alan, loved mother of Josie, Ian and Graham. Respected and loved mother-in-law of the late John, Liz and Ann. Proud Grandma of her grandchildren – Joanna, Sarah, Alan, Amy, Emma and Mark, and all her great-grandchildren Olivia, Cameron, Tilly and Edie. Loved sister of the late Ngaire Pierce. “An amazing woman” Yvonne had a wonderful network of carers, helpers and friends who along with Josie, who enabled her to live a fulfilling life at home. We thank you one and all for your kindness and caring. Thank you also to the Management and staff at Calvary Hospital, for your friendliness and compassion during Mum’s final few days. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hawthondale Care Village Charitable Trust. As per Yvonne’s wishes, a private farewell has been held. McIntyre James “Jim” 17092, Joined March 1961 crossed the bar on 23 June 2022. Electrician. He was on the crew who brought Blackpool to NZ and was in Otago at Mururoa. He will be at the Hemi Tapu church on Massey Street Hamilton until his Service Saturday morning at 10.00 am 18-6-22, followed by his burial in Newstead Cemetery at 11.00 am. A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at the Whangamata RSA, Port Road, on Thursday 9th June at 11.00 am, followed by an interment at the Whangamata Cemetery, RSA section.
