AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By Neal Catley, FNZIM
About four years ago, I accepted an invitation to join the RNZNCA subcommittee Medallic WorkingGroup [Gary Houghton, Frank Rands, John Titmus, Rod Berry].
The subcommittee outcome is now ‘old hat’ as on 3 November 2021 those New Zealand military personnel who served under the FESR- ANZUK banner were quite rightly awarded the New Zealand Operational Service Medal [NZOSM]. Even though at times it was a bureaucratic, torturous medallic subcommittee working group journey it would be inappropriate of me not to acknowledge the work of Frank Rands. His enthusiasm and attention to detail [staff work] to ensure all of our medallic ducks stayed in line was impressive! Accordingly, I believe, Frank because of his fine work deserves a special BRAVO ZULU and a couple of jars of the brown stuff.
BZ Frank for your enthusiasm and hard work, I extend my gratitude and appreciation to Gary, Neal, John & Rod for their dedication and involvement with the subcommittee work. Without you all this wouldn’t have happened.
BZ to Frank et al. Agree with Neal’s remarks. It just goes to show how a dedicated focused team can achieve their goal even though facing negative opposition. Many have befitted from their endeavours and I am sure they appreciate all the efforts made on their behalf. Have a great Christmas all.
I received my “gong” a couple of days ago, and my thanks go to the tenacity of the members who fought so hard on behalf of so many. BZ indeed!
“BZ” Frank and the others on the committee. A very good result, once again well done and a Merry Xmas to you all n good health for the New Year.
My OSM arrived this am. Many thanks to Frank, Gary, Neal, John and Rod for their efforts in getting this result for us.
