GAMSER Colin John (CJ) 19637 LWTR Ex RNZN Joined 22 Jan 1969 Born on May 16, 1951, CTB, last night 15-1-2019 at 8pm Melbourne time age 67, Car salesman, businessman extraordinaire, a bloody good bloke (for an Australian). It is unsure how he CTB, but his funeral is 23 Jan in Melbourne POC is Ian Stewart, who will be attending the funeral

GEORGE, Bryan Douglas NZ16518 RNZN (L/CK (o) 1959-1966. On Saturday, January 12, 2019, suddenly in Christchurch, aged 76 years. Loved son of the late Douglas and Monica (nee Beck). Loved husband of the late Pauline, dearly loved father and father-in-law of Sonja and Steve, Derrick and Tracey, a very much loved grandad of Kaelym, Sheldon, and Riane, loved brother and brother-in-law of Barry, Linda, Heather and Graeme, and Neville, step-brother of Trevor (deceased), and Peter, and uncle of his nieces and nephews. A celebration of Bryan’s life will be held in the John Rhind Chapel, entrance of Whitmore and London Street, Christchurch, on Saturday, January 19, at 1.00pm.

RAILTON Russell A.B./R.P crossed the bar overnight (12 Jan) at Bendigo Hospital. Rails will be sorely missed by the ex RNZN fraternity here in Victoria. Rails is top left in the Op’s Room pic attached. This was Taranaki 65/66 during Confrontation. In the pic of three of the Ops Room crew taken a couple of years ago, Gerry Marlow (RIP) on the left, myself in the middle and Rails on the right. RIP Rails, a good ship mate and a true friend.

Loved Grandmother of Mikey, Caity, Matt, Ellie, Sam, Lucy, Maddie and Lily. Loved sister of Norma. TAYLOR, Peter Charles Lieutenant RNZNVR (retired). Passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Aberleigh Rest Home, Blenheim, aged 93 years. Loving husband of Cherry. Much loved father and step-father of Dawn, Wendy, Jan, Debbie, Tracey and Sarah. Loved Grandad to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Now at peace, will be sadly missed and never forgotten. WHALE, Peter Ronald. Service Number 14711, NZ Navy. 29 October 1937 – 09 January 2019. Husband of Pamela (deceased) for 29 years and father to Carolyn, Philip and Brent. Much loved Husband of Lois for 65 years, Loved Father of Grant and Sally and Grandfather to Brad, Simon, Juliet and Ollie. Friend of Frank and Deanna. GRATTON, Robert Walter. Lt. Cdr (Rtd), RNZN Service No. 21452 Passed away on 2 January 2019 at North Shore Hospital, aged 69 years. A much loved husband, father, son, brother, in-law, uncle, teacher, colleague and friend. A passionate teacher of science. Robert’s wish was that his brain be donated to the Neurological Foundation Brain Bank and that he be cremated. There will be no formal funeral but our heartfelt thanks go to all those scores of people who, during the 18 months since his diagnosis, came from overseas and from all over NZ to visit Robert, who sent him messages, emails and gifts, who kept him company during chemotherapy sessions and who brought him so much cheer. He appreciated you all so much and your support for him while he was still with us will be treasured always. Robert was a man of integrity, kindness and fun who will be remembered with happiness.
