It’s only Money!

Some of you will remember the time when the Seaman’s Union were able to increase the pay for merchant seaman to such a degree whereby it clearly outstripped the pay of naval personnel.  Conditions of service were also much better.  Here is a newspaper article from the NZ Herald dated 29 March 1977.
