He served ashore in HMNZS Bases Tamaki and Philomel. His sea postings included HMNZ Ships Pukaki, Kaniere, Royalist, Taranaki, Rotoiti, Endeavour, Lachlan, Otago, Waikato and Paea. During his career Mo was awarded his Good Conduct Badges in Jan 62, Jan 66 and Jan 70 respectively and was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct medal in Jan 1973. Mo has always been described as a person who was larger than life and wore the Navy uniform and rugby colours with pride.
GARRETT, John (Bush) ex RNZN CPO NZV 15360 John sadly passed away on 24 May 2016. He was much loved and will be sadly missed by all of his family and extended family. Jan, his wife of 49 years.
