Good Evening – looking through your list of communicators I can confirm I know the whereabouts of GAFFANEY, Vincent James Sig 7425. He is my dad and living with me in the Bay of Plenty. He has just celebrated his 87th birthday on the 20 February.

It is with sadness that Dad, Vincent James Gaffaney RNZN SIG7425 passed away peacefully in Katikati on Monday 13th May 2013. He was 88 years old and we celebrated his life and final journey at the Katikati RSA – It was a beautiful day in everyway

    Hi Frank
I last saw Rex George Parr in Auckland (1961). Among other things he was driving a Cadillac limo for Johnson’s Blue Motors. I am not sure if he pursued a career in teaching but I did hear that he was living in Cambridge at one time.

Hi Pete – my best regards to Ann – in my 4 yrs at NCC in the late 60s, I have to say she was my best operator (and I was against females in a watch for a start!). I eventually went outside in Jan 83 – spent last several years in personnel work, last of which was in Wgtn in a WO job, but not paid as a WO, and turned down for the rank, so I told them what to do with their Navy. Then worked for BP Oil head office in Wgtn as a telex op, and then a computer op – total 13 yrs, then made redundant. Never worked since and quite happy. Living in Paraparaumu. email precey@paradise.net.nz. – Regards Chris
